Discover The GSI Outdoors – 30 Fl Oz JavaPress

Coffee is one item that I and my husband need to start the day off with and it is nearly impossible at times, without a French Press coffee maker. However, when we go camping we almost never think about bringing the French press with us because we do not want it getting broken nor do we want it having to be ruined by any of the items that we use while camping which could knock the press. That is why we have decided to look at the different French Press coffee makers that you can use while camping. In this instance, we are talking about the GSI Outdoors – 30 Fl Oz JavaPress for you to take camping with you and know if it is going to work for your needs or if you should consider a different coffee press.

Features Of The GSI Outdoors -30 Fl Oz JavaPress

  • This is a product that is made from copolyester and it is going to be resistant to shattering, which will really help out when you are camping because this means you are not going to have this get broken when you are camping. What else is nice is the product is one that is going to be BPA free, which is going to make it easier for you to use and know you are not going to have any problems with chemicals leeching into your coffee.
  • While the basis of using a french press is pretty much the same all around, we have found this is a product that has tried to add a new type of technology for the coffee filter part. This is going to help you avoid getting the grounds in your coffee and it will make it a challenge for you to get the coffee grounds into the cup that you are going to use, but also have a chance of avoiding any type of grounds in the cup.
  • As the name says this is a java press that is going to hold the full 30 ounces of coffee. This will make it easier for you to have a great cup of coffee and know that it will be providing you with the coffee you want to have.  The best part is since this is made with a little drinking part if you are careful and you can easily drink your coffee out of this and know the press will keep it warm for you because the lid is insulated and the walls of the press are double insulated.
  • When you are looking at the press you will notice that the French press can easily get very warm on your hand if you are trying to hold it. However, this is something that you can easily overcome if you are careful or if you use the cloth that is water resistant that is included with the press to make it easier for you to use the item and keep your hands safe.

What I Like About The French Press

Well, I have to say that one of the main things that I like about this press is the fact that it is resistance to shattering. This means that I do not really have to worry about my kids grabbing this and pulling it over, but also do not have to be concerned about the fact that I can drop this at times and for some reason I never find the items that are actually going to let this bounce. It is going to be fine and not be ruined by the drops that I have a tendency to have when I am getting up in the morning.

The new way the press is working is something else that I really like with this press. I have used some of the glass types of presses at home and they always tend to have a few coffee grounds inside of the cup. However, with this java press for camping, I do not really get a lot of grounds in the coffee, which makes it easier for me to drink the coffee, instead of feeling like I have to chew the coffee up to get it drank.

Ease of use is something else that I really like with this press. Just like when you are using the French coffee press at home this is one that is actually very easy to use. So you just add in your coffee grounds to the bottom, add in the hot water. Then you put the lid on the press, with the plunger part pulled all the way up. After about five minutes or so you will want to start to slowly press the plunger down until it reaches the bottom. Then you are ready to enjoy the perfect cup of coffee as the best way to start your morning while camping. Hope you enjoy the bonus on how to make the coffee with a french press.

The time frame the press is going to keep the coffee warm is another factor that I really like here. Since this is double walled insulated and it has an insulated lid it is going to make it easier for the coffee to stay warmer for a longer period of time. This allows me to drink my coffee throughout the day and this is going to let me have a good drink of coffee even if I am unable to drink it right away.

What I Did Not Like With The French Press Coffee Maker

Well, I have to admit the one thing that I did not like is the lid is made of plastic and not a metal or glass. Now, I know this is to reduce the chance of it breaking, but in my experience plastic when it is heated and cooled multiple times starts to show fatigue. So I can only imagine this is going to happen to this press as you start to use it quite a bit.

My Final Thoughts

Well, I have to admit I love making coffee and drinking it to start my day off. However, what I have found is it can be difficult to make coffee while you are camping and you really do not want to brush up on how to use a coffee percolator before you leave the house. With the GSI Outdoors – 30 fl oz Java Press, I do not have to brush up on how to use a percolator, I just have to bring my coffee and a kettle to boil water. Then I have a great java press for camping that works out great and is shatter resistant.
