1. Great Smoky Mountains National Park

This is a park that is well visited and often the most popular parks in America. With that being the case, the location does have several different campgrounds for you to use and the mountains have plenty of beauty for you to explore. Throw in the fact that this is very close to Gatlinburg, a tourist town, and it is easy to see why this is a popular destination. Something else you will have is hundreds of miles of trails and a lot of historical buildings for you to explore.

2. Glacier National Park

When you are here you will enjoy the fact that this is a region that is very close to the beauty that is present in the region. You will want to make sure you have warmer clothes because you will find the name does hold true that it has Glaciers around you and that can make it a lot colder than what you would expect. With this being the case, you need to realize if you are in the right campground you can watch the sun come up on two countries at the same time, Canada and the United States.

3. Acadia National Park 

Acadia is a place that you will fall in love with. The camping can be very cold as their are high winds in the area at times, but you will also find the high winds can make it difficult for you to camp at times. The park is located a brief ten to fifteen minute mark from the Atlantic Ocean. You will have several different campgrounds in the park to choose from. If you are able to tolerate some colder weather you may want to consider the fall camping because of the beautiful colors that are present in the park.

4. Capitol Reef National Park

This is a park that is located in the desert region of the state of Utah. However, what is very nice about this location is the fact that it is not well known and it is not well traveled because of that. The camping is more of the backwoods style of camping you may not want to do, but you will find the camping is available at some of the primitive campgrounds as well. Either way you will like the solitude of the camping that you have available at this park.

5. Olympic National Park

Exploration can be found here if you are able to go out camping and have a great time with the backwoods permits. However, what you need to realize is this does not guarantee you have the easiest of camping trips because the backpacking area can be very rough. When you are here, though, you have the towering mountains and the Pacific Ocean. Combining these two options and giving you the chance to go camping in this beautiful area and it is easy to see why this is a place that is a must stop.
