Camping Equipment For Today And Tomorrow

Camping EquipmentCamping is an outdoor activity that involves staying overnight in some type of a shelter from a tent, camper, or even a motorhome. Most of the time, the people who are camping will be camping because they love the outdoors, want to get away from the distractions of city life, or want to have a chance to bond with their family without the modern day interruptions. What is very important for people to realize is camping has evolved from what was seen as a rich person’s hobby to one that a lot of people are able to participate in. Typically the camping, people do end up in a national park, state park, or a privately owned campground. While some people may think camping is the same as going on a picnic, day tripping or hiking it is completely different from the true definition of a camping trip means staying at least one night out in the woods.

Different Types Of Camping To Explore

While you may think camping is nothing more than going out into the woods with your camper, you need to realize camping has so much more to offer. In fact, we are going to cover several of the camping styles, because you may find the camping gear reviews we do here and the campgrounds we highlight in our articles will help you have a better understanding of what the camping styles are and the gear you may need to have for each type of camping.

Survivalist Camping

This is a type of camping where people are going to set off in the woods with the bare minimum of supplies. Sometimes the people will have some camping equipment, but if they do have any it is usually only what they need to survive for the day. They have a tendency to bring along tents, sleeping bag, some type of cookware, water purification tablets or system, and they also have an emergency type of food for them to eat if they need to have it for an emergency. In some cases, people who are hiking could fall under this class as they have a tendency to pack everything they need into their backpacks to enjoy the wilderness, but they tend to bring along some of the extras that a survivalist type of camper would not bring.

Recreational Camping

Recreational type of camping is the one that is what you are going to find to be the type of camping that most people are used to having. This type of camping is going to have the most camping equipment intensive type of camping as it will often involve getting chairs, a camper or tent, and often means bringing along the entire family. So you will find this is going to involve bringing along everything you will need in the car or camping. Then you will have a campsite to use that is usually inside of an organized, non-backwoods, campground that will have all the different creature comforts you may be used to when you are at your home.

Glamping

Yes, this is not a fad and has been around since the early 1900’s. So you will like the fact that it is still around and it actually has its roots from some of the wealthy travelers that were looking to go around the world. This is the type of camping that has really seen people starting to feel like they are going to be staying in a hotel or some other location that is going to be amazing and typically out of the budget. However, glamping tends to have everything set up for them in a luxury tent or location. Think about the nature reserves you see in Africa and some of the tents you see as a form of glamping that is available.

Camping Equipment Priorities

Now, as you can tell we are all about camping gear and making sure you have all the best gear possible. Since that is the cases, we have come up with what we rank as the top 3 pieces of equipment you need to bring with you. However, we are going to break it down even further than what you would find most gear review websites would do as we are going to cover all the different pieces of equipment you can use while camping, but those are going to be in a list type of format. Then you will find the gear at the top of the page that will make it easier for you to navigate the website and know it is going to make it easier for you to have a great time when you go out camping.

The first thing that you need to be concerned about when you are camping, no matter glamping or survival camping, you will need to get the proper clothing. The proper clothing will make it easier for you to survive your camping trip but also helps to guarantee you are going to have the comfort you need to have. Even in the middle of summer, you may want to bring along a pair of pants or even a sweatshirt because the summer evening may get cool if you are camping in a Northerly climate.

A second thing you will want to consider is going to be the types of foods you are going to bring with you. If you are in a camper that has a refrigerator then you may rest easier because it means you can often bring along meats and other products. However, if you are backpacking you may need to bring along some of the freeze dried foods or bring along some of the other foods that are going to be non-perishable. A lot of times the pasta is going to be quite a bit easier to bring with you and cereals as well. Think about the trail mixes you can buy because they are going to be a great option for you to bring with you while you are camping.

Finally, you need to have some type of shelter from the weather. To get the proper shelter you need to make sure you look at the type of location you are going to want to go to and know what kind of weather is known for the area. This will make it easier for you to get the proper shelter while you are camping and have the proper gear that will keep you safe while you are camping. Without this, you could have some problems in getting the camping trip to be as safe as what you would like to have. At the same time, if you get the right camping shelter it will be easier for you to have all the protection you need to have and make your trip enjoyable.

Additional Camping Gear That You Need

We have provided the basic list of gear that you need to have, but as you know this is just the start of the camping gear. Here is the list of the equipment you may need the next time you get ready to go camping.

  • Tools to provide you with firewood, driving in tent pegs, or other items that will make it easier for you to have the tools you need to have.
  • A first aid kit may sound a little odd to have to bring with you, but this is definitely an item you will need to have because it is going to provide you with the safety you need to have, but also makes it easier for you to have a band-aid or other item if you need to have it.
  • A sleeping bag and other products are going to be another factor that you should be looking for as well. This is going to make it easier for you to have a great product you will want to have because it makes it easier to sleep and can replace most of the blankets you would be using. When you are using a sleeping bag, you will find a sleeping pad is going to be helpful as well.
  • Chairs to sit in is something else that you would want to have so you can sit down and so you can sit around the fire. Speaking of the fire, you should make sure you have the proper fire starters to get the fire going when you are getting the fire started to get ready for the night.
  • Insect repellent is going to be another product you should have with you. Face it, you are going to be outdoors and this is going to mean you will have bugs around you. Since you will have bugs you need to make sure you keep some type of bug repellent with you.
  • Cooking utensils are some of the other supplies you need to bring with you. As much as you would like for the campground to provide you with all the items you need to cook with, you should realize they do not typically provide these unless you are in one of the luxury glamping locations we have mentioned above.

So you will like the gear we have reviewed so far and we plan on expanding the site even more to provide practical advice, campfire starting advice, and plenty of campground reviews along with the gear review. You may be asking yourself if there is more gear that you will want to use and that is very true, but we do not want to bore you with a long list of all the gear you need. So just check out our categories above and this will make it easier for you to find the right camping gear to take with you.
