Features Of The GSI Outdoors 14021 Tea Kettle

• The kettle is made of enameled steel. While this may not seem like it would be that good of an option, the enameling is supposed to help keep the kettle from getting scratched and damaged. However, like I have mentioned before in some of the other enameled products the enameling can get damaged and it can easily get ruined. The best part is the enameling does have a tendency to provide quite a bit of protection from the damage and if you are careful you do not have to worry about the enameling getting damaged.
• Just like the other kettle we have talked about with the gooseneck feature from GSI Outdoors this is another kettle that has been hardened in the kiln and it has been put in the kiln twice and this has been in a kiln that has been heated up to 1400 degrees. So you will not have to worry about the enamel starting to get ruined by the work you are going to be doing.
• The construction process of this kettle was done in a three-ply construction process. This is going to make it easier for the kettle to last quite a bit longer, but also have a better thermo-conduction which will guarantee the heat is going to be evenly distributed and it is going to allow the water to get warmed up quickly and easily. Not to mention when you are looking at the product you will notice the three-ply construction will be a lot more durable as well.
• The handle on the kettle is more of a wire bail construction. This is a great construction because it is going to be easier to keep the handle cooler. However, you will also love this because it is going to be able to have a great kettle that is going to make it easier for you to use and pour because it is easier to hold compared to the other handles that are on the market.

What I Like About This Camping Kettle

I really like the fact this is a kettle that has a type of a wire bail handle. This is going to make it quite a bit easier for me to hold onto, but also while the wire bail will get warm it is going to stay cooler than some of the other kettles that we have reviewed in the past. So this will help you get the water warmed up and make sure it is going to be warm without you burning your hands while you are getting the kettle off of the stove of the fire you are using.

Now, as you can tell by the picture the color of this kettle is a kind of speckled neutral blue. While usually, I tend to shy away from colored kettles, I have to say this is a kettle that I really like because the blue color is nice. So you will be able to have a kettle that you can easily identify as yours and know it is not going to be looking out of place at all. However, the blue color has the speckled look to it more than anything and that is really going to be what I love because it reminds me almost of like a birds egg that you can find out in the wild.

When you look at this kettle you will notice the water capacity is not that high. However, this is a nice feature because it means you will not be wasting a lot of water when you are getting ready to boil the water and not have enough time to drink the water. So this is a great feature because it makes 2 quarts of water that is boiling and definitely not going to be more water than what I would use at a time, but also not more water than what my husband would use with his drip over coffee as well.

What I Did Not Care For With The Camping Kettle

Well, I have to say that like most of the camping kettles that we have looked at this is another one that does not have a whistle. While I know this is usually to keep everything happy with Mother Nature and not scare away anything outside, I find that I need to have the whistle to make sure I am able to hear when the water is done. This is because I have a tendency to get sidetracked while the kettle is on, I have kids, and that means that I do not always get back to the kettle right away to check it to see if the water is ready to be used for the tea or not.

My Final Thoughts On The Kettle

Now, I have to say this is a nice kettle that holds quite a bit of water compared to some of the ones we have looked into before. So this is definitely something you are going to want to look at if you need a nice kettle to use while camping and definitely a kettle that will work for your needs. What is really nice about this tea kettle is the fact that it has a great color to it and I would definitely recommend the GSI Outdoors 14021 Tea Kettle if you need a great camping kettle.
