Generally, when you are camping you will notice that it is very easy for you to give up some of the creature comforts you are used to. However, one thing that a lot of people never are willing to give up is going to be the cup of coffee in the morning. This is very true for me and I have to admit this is something that I could not live without and if you had to be around my husband at all without coffee then you would understand why he cannot go without a cup of coffee either! • It is a percolator that is going to come with a basket that will make it easier for you to get the percolator for you to make it up to 8 cups. Since this will make it easier for you to get the right amount of coffee, it will not take you as long to get the coffee done and in your mouth.
• With this product, you will notice that it is made from enameled steel. This is going to allow you to have a product that will last you for a longer period of time, but also have the protection you want to have from the steel being damaged or even being exposed to the water or other outdoor items you may have around while camping. What else is great about this product is the fact the enamel coating does make it quite a bit easier for you to have a product that is very easy to keep clean.
• You may think since this an enameled product, you may have some problems with these getting scratched or ruined. However, what is great is the GSI company has realized this can be an issue and if the percolator is scratched it could easily be ruined. So they went out and made sure all the enameled camp coffee percolator they are selling has been hardened in the kiln at 1400 degrees, which will help guarantee the product does not chip or scratch when you are out using it.
• The lid you can use on the top of the percolator, with the plastic handle, is going to help in keeping the coffee or water you have inside of the percolator warm for a long time. This will make it quite a bit easier for you to get the product and know it is going to allow you to make the coffee early in the morning when you first get up, but not really have to worry about it being so cold you cannot drink it a few hours later.

What I Like About The Coffee Percolator

The weight of the percolator for this being a steel percolator is something that I really like. With a lot of the products that I have used in the past they were really heavy for the steel products and that made it very difficult for me to use, but also made it hard for me to get the percolator to work like I wanted it to work. Which is nice because it also means that once I have the water and coffee inside of the percolator it will work a lot easier and still not going to weight a ton.

Now, I have to say I really do like the fact this is going to have a plastic holder on top of the lid. This is going to make it quite a bit easier for you to have a lid that you can use and know it will be able to keep the water or liquid warm, but if you have to remove the lid because you have already used all of your coffee in the first round and the percolator is still warm, you will like the fact, like I do, that the knob is made of plastic and this makes it easier for you to lift up the lid and get the refill going on.

When you are using the filler basket, please make sure you do to avoid sediment, you will notice it is going to capture most of the sediment. This is going to be a great thing because it makes it easier for you to have a great cup of coffee in the morning. However, what else is nice is if you are not going to use the filler basket you could have this for boiled water as well, which is a very nice feature because it can reduce the number of items you have to bring with you when you are going to go camping.

What I Did Not Care For With The Camp Coffee Percolator

The lid, which I like because it is going to be able to keep the water or coffee warm is also a downfall that I do not care for with this percolator. That is mainly because the coffee percolator is going to have some issues with the lid staying on in a secure manner. That is mainly because the little clip that is used to hold the lid on is not as secure as what it should be.

As far as finding the best percolator on the market it is a true tossup because you have so many different ones available. However, one aspect that you are going to like is the fact this means you can be picky about what you are going to buy. This is why we have to say this is one of those that is a decent one to get and as long as you do not mind the lid is a little bit on the weak side it is a great one to use. No matter what, the GSI Outdoors Enameled 8 Cup Steel Percolator is one that we really enjoy seeing.
