How To Keep Dog Warm While Camping
Camping with your dog can be very rewarding as you will have a companion with you, but also will not have to worry about boarding your dogs. This is when you should know more about how you can get your dog warm when you are camping in the early spring or later fall times and even if you are going to really push it for the winter as well. In most dogs, this is not a major issue as they will have a nice fur coat that will help to keep them warm. An issue that can come up is in the smaller breeds they may not have as thick of a coat and need to really be cared for completely different than some of the larger dogs. That is why I decided to look at how to keep dog warm while camping.
Clothing For Your Dog
This is one aspect that you may have never looked at for your dog and that is because clothing for your dog may not seem like it would be that important to have. This is when you should know more about the fact that you can have clothing for the dogs and have them adjusted for the weather just like your own clothes. One thing that you do need to remember is when you are looking at the clothing that your dog, even if they are wearing clothing will still have a fur coat.
Providing Them Blankets To Sleep In And On
Often when you are looking at the dogs you will find that you are going to need to have some added blankets for them to sleep on. You will find this is going to make it easier for you to have do because they will already have their bed with them and have a nice place to lay down, but after you get the blankets they are going to have something to cover up with and burrow down with as well. So the extra blankets is definitely an option and in some cases, you will find that some people are going to even have a sleeping bag for their dogs.
Have Them Closer To You At Night
Quite often when you have your dogs with you at the campsite, you are going to have them close to you already. However, what you will find is when you are camping here you will want to make sure you know that you can keep your dogs closer to you at night. In some cases, this even means having them sleeping in the same sleeping bag as you are. Just by having your dogs closer to you, though, you will have a chance to help keep the dogs warmer and this will actually help you stay warmer as well as you two will be sharing body heat with each other and that is a great way to stay warm and often taught in a lot of survival schools.
In The Evening Have A Safe Area By The Campfire For The Dog
This is one aspect that you need to consider for your dogs and that is having an area that is close enough to the campfire for your dogs to lay down. At the same time, though, you need to make sure the area you have set up for your dog is far enough away from the fire they will not get burned. You also need to make sure you are mindful of the way the smoke is blowing as this will also help you know more about which way the embers from your fire are going to go as well.
Have Fun Camping With Your Dog
