Well, we have been covering the kettles quite a bit lately and to be honest this is the next one in our line to have covered. As we mentioned we are trying to cover all of the camping gear we can. Not to mention it is starting to get cooler where we live and we are starting to use more hot water than what I thought I would, so a kettle seems like a perfect thing to cover.

Features Of The Alocs Outdoor Kettle

• The kettle has a water capacity that will allow you to boil just under a liter of water at a time. The kettle will hold up to .8 liters and this makes it easier for you to get the water heated up quickly, but also know the water is going to work for what you need to have it working out for you as.
• Material wise, the camping kettle is made from the hard anodized aluminum. This is the same material that is used to help make some of the cookware you have in the kitchen scratch proof, but also free from having food sticking. The process is basically going to ensure the pots and in this case, the kettle has an oxide on it from natural processes.
• The weight of the kettle overall will make this a great camping teapot because it is going to weigh only 140 grams. Now, this is without water so you need to remember this. However, you will also like the fact this kettle is light enough that it can easily be used as a great backpacking kettle because it will not lead to a lot of weight being added to your backpack.

What I Like About The Kettle Here

One aspect that I really do enjoy about the kettle is the weight of the kettle. Normally I would not mention this, but when I am camping I want to have something that is lightweight and not going to drag down my gear. This is exactly what I get when I look at this kettle. It is lightweight and it will make it easier for me to carry around and not have to be concerned about the kettle being so heavy that I cannot really take it with me anywhere at all.

Adjustability of the haul loop is something else I enjoy. I have some tea kettles in my house that have a rigid loop for the handle. This cannot be moved and often means I have to move all over the place to get the handle out of the way to fill the kettle. Generally, this leads to me losing quite a bit of water. However, with this kettle, the handle can fold down to the side and this makes it easier for me to fill up the kettle and not have to worry about any of the water running down the side of the kettle.

Even as a smaller kettle, it does not lose the same classic shape that I have come to appreciate in a kettle. This, in turn, makes it easier for me to know the basics of how it is going to function and not have to be concerned about trying to figure out how to use something new. Without this, I could easily have a major challenge on my hands because it is usually not going to have the best lighting when I am out camping and trying to get the camping kettle set up.

What I Did Not Care For With The Alocs Outdoor Kettle

In my experience, not saying this will be the case all the time, the hard anodized aluminum is not very hard wearing. Yes, it will last for some time, but it does not last as long as some of the other items you can use. However, it is a non-stick surface and when you start to get some knicks and grooves into the surface. This, in turn, leads to the development of bacteria and other items that can cause you some type of harm if you are not careful or even lead to bacterial growth.

The water capacity is another feature I did not really care for with this kettle. While I know not all the kettles are going to do a lot of water at a single time, especially a camping kettle, I would have liked to have had a little bit more in the way of space for the water. For me, though, I really like having some extra hot water because I drink tea, my husband drinks coffee, and my kids will drink tea or hot chocolate depending on the weather. All of these require hot water which means filling and emptying this kettle several times.

My Final Thoughts

Camping is a great way to reconnect with nature. However, at the same time I have found that you do have to heat your own water without having the benefit of the same kettle you would have at home. Since this is the case, I have decided this kettle, outside of the small size is a decent one to use. Overall, I would recommend the Alocs outdoor kettle for a smaller family, but if you are larger and using it all the time then you may want to consider a larger kettle.
