Camelbak Sabre

Hiking is a great way to enjoy nature, but you need to have water mixed in with the camping gear that you are taking hiking with you. Well, this used to be a major issue for a lot of people because it often meant they would have to take bottled water with them and try to find space for it in all the other gear and then have to worry about the additional weight. Now, this is not so much of an issue as you will find the Camelbak Sabre to be a great option and that is what we are going to review here. Then you will see if this is going to work on your next hiking trip or if you need to consider a different backpack.

Features Of The Camelbak Sabre

  • This is a pack that will fit on your back, but it will have a water bladder inside of it. This bladder is large enough in this specific model that we are talking about here that is able to hold right around 2 liters of water. So you will want to be aware of this or you could end up running out of water for your hiking trip you are going to be taking.
  • The design of the backpack is going to come in more of the slender style. This is going to be a good thing for you to see because it will make it easier for you to have this on your back and not really have to worry about it being on your back. Not only that, if you have a pack that is not overly large this may easily slip under the pack.
  • The straw that is going to be fed through the straps for you to drink out of is going to have the QL Hydrolock Bite Valve Adapter. This will make it easier for you to have the water ready for you, but also know it will click on and off to give you the water you need to have.

What I Like About This Piece Of Camping Gear

Seals Pretty Well

This is a great feature and definitely one you are sure to like and that is the fact this is a backpack that is going to seal really well on the water. So you will not have to be concerned about the water leaking out on you nor do you have to be worried about it spilling on you when you are hiking down the trail. So you do have to make sure you are looking at this aspect of these backpacks even if you do not buy this one.

Is Easy To Refill

Another common issue with a lot of these backpacks is the fact they are nearly impossible to refill. With this product that is a mute point as you are able to get this easily refilled and know it will work for what you need it to do and that is hold water. So you will enjoy the fact this is going to make it easier for you to have the water and once it is emptied out you can refill it quickly and easily.

Shoulder Straps Are Adjustable

As sad as this may sound you will find some of the backpacks on the market do not have adjustable backstraps. When this happens it often means you will have extremely sore shoulders for days to weeks after you are done camping. However, with this backpack it has shoulder straps that are very easy for you to adjust and have them comfortable for your shoulders and not digging in.

What I Did Not Care For Here

Tends To Hold Onto Plastic Taste

This is something that I would kind of expect, but after several water cycles going through, I would have thought it would have been gone. However, some of the packs have been reported by users to hold a taste of plastic. Now, I do not know what they are doing to make it keep the plastic taste, but in my experience if you let the water in any plastic container heat up it will have a plastic taste.

My Final Thoughts On The Camelbak Sabre

Well, I have to say that when you are hiking you really do not want to have to carry anything extra if you can avoid it. However, water is one of those things that you have to have with you. So carrying it on your back in a container that does not leak is a great thing. That is exactly what you will get here with the Camelbak Sabre. Overall, this is a great pack and one that you are sure to find to come in handy.
