Well, we know finding the best places to go camping at in Florida can be hard and that is why we have decided it was time for us to rank what we feel are the 5 best campgrounds in Florida. By ranking these campgrounds we hope that it will make it easier for you to have a great camping trip in Florida while using the camping gear we have talked about, but also knowing what we find are the best campgrounds to stay at.

How Did We Narrow Down Our List Of Campgrounds

The way that we narrowed down the campgrounds we ranked was by looking at the different locations of the place, the amenities that are offered at the location, and even what they allow in the way of camping gear that you can bring. All of these factors went into our list here to help you may an informed decision based off of what we are presenting to you. At the same time, though, we have taken into account the kids as well to see what they are going to be able to do at the campgrounds. What else we did was a lot of research on the campgrounds which will make it easier for you to have a great time at the location.

5. Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park Camp-Resort

Located not far off of I10 you will find the Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park. This is a great place that you will enjoy as it has plenty to offer and will definitely give you something to do that you may have never imagined before while you are camping. You will notice that it is going to have some of the best amenities you can find at a campground and it will also be easy to get to the campground.

The best part is this campground will have all the different types of spots you will want to have available from tent spots, RV spots, and cabin rentals. However, you will also notice that this is going to be a great campground because it also has a lot of amenities and a great pool to use. Not to mention the campground has easy access to the main attractions in Southern Georgia and Northern Florida.

4. Fort De Soto Park Campground

Fort De Soto Park is a great place to go and see some amazing places that you would have never seen before. However, what is really great about this place is the location of it. The location is not like the Jellystone park mentioned above. Instead, this park is going to have quite a bit for you to go out and see because of where it is located at.

At this campground you will notice they are going to have plenty of sites for you to enjoy. What else is nice is each of the campsites will have its own type of amenities you are going to like and you will find that the campground even has some spots that are set aside for pets. These sites are limited so you should book early, but overall, this is a great campground and with the location and shell conservation that is going on it is easy to see this is a great place to go and stay in. What else is great is the proximity to the beaches and the fort itself. So bring your bathing suit when you are going here.

3. Okeechobee KOA Campground

Okeechobee KOA is a place that is going to have plenty of amenities for you to use. In fact, this is the largest 9 hold golf course at any of the KOA parks, which is going to really add to the lore of the campground and that is just the start. While this park is not near the beach, it is a place that does have plenty to do outside of just the golf course for you to enjoy.

The main thing that you and the kids will love is the pool that is open year round. This pool will be a great feature and definitely one that will help you beat the heat in Florida. The dogs will like the place as well as you will find the location does have a great dog park as well which will help you enjoy your camping trip with your pets.

2. Saint Augustine Beach KOA Holiday

When you want to have a great place to stay in Saint Augustine that is not part of the hotel chains or not going to keep you locked inside at night? Well, if that is the case then you will want to check out the Saint Augustine Beach KOA. This place is one that you are going to really love. This place has quite a bit going for it and I have to admit its location in the historic area is amazing and makes it very easy for you to get out into the town.

Now, one thing that I do like about this campground that I did not see at a lot of the campgrounds we looked at in Florida is the fact this is a place that has a tour shuttle. Granted, Saint Augustine is quite a bit different than most places you would be traveling to as it is a historical city with a lot to see, but this is definitely a unique feature because it means you can leave your car at the campsite if you want and only have to pay a little bit extra to get into town and know you will have a great trip.

1. Saint George Island State Park

Saint George Island State Park is obviously an island, but it is a place that has made it to the tops of our list. This park is located in Northwestern Florida, but it is on the eastern tip of the island which is going to allow you to have some of the quiet that you would want to have. What else is great is this park has some amazing beaches that you can go along and enjoy the water or if you want to just look for different types of glass that may have washed up on the shore.

The campground is one that is open for most of the types of campers you can bring. You will notice this is going to be an important consideration because you want to make sure the size is within the restrictions or you could end up getting a campsite that your camper cannot fit into. You may find the primitive spots to be a great option as well if you want to get away from all the comforts you may be used to having.

How To Pick Out The Best Florida Campgrounds To Stay In

Well, I have to say this is going to really depend on what you are looking for in the campground and the location you are looking to stay at. However, we did provide you our list of the 5 best campgrounds in Florida all of these are going to be in the Sunshine state and it will make it easier for you to use the camping gear you have to its fullest and know all of your camping dreams will be fulfilled.
