I know that it sounds a little odd, but I do have to say I love the fact this is one of those pieces you can use for years to come and have it look good as well if you properly care for it. Since this is the case, we decided it was time for us to share our viewpoints of the GSI Outd00rs Glacier Stainless Kettle. This way you will have information on how well this kettle is, but also know if it will suit your needs or if you should consider a different kettle to help you in getting the piece of camping gear that will keep your water boiling for you when you are camping. It is important to note this is not the typical kettle that you would think of as a tea kettle and is more of a pot that is going to make it easier for you to find the right piece of campfire cookware.

Features Of The GSI Outdoors Glacier Stainless Kettle

• This is a kettle that is made of stainless steel. This will definitely make it easier for you to have a great product that is going to have a great look for you to enjoy. However, what you are going to really enjoy is the fact that the stainless steel is going to make it quite a bit easier for you to have all the great look you want to have and know it is going to look perfect each time.
• The product you are looking at here is going to come with the lid and the kettle. This will make it easier for you to use the product and know that it is going to work for what you want to have. However, at the same time, the lid is going to allow you to know the heat will be properly contained and not have to be concerned about the kettle not working for what you want to have because it is actually going to be able to work for what you want it to do.
• While you are going to love this product because it is going to do the job you need it to, you need to realize it is also going to be on the heavy side for what you need to be using as well. You may be shocked to see this is a product that is going to come in at the almost ten pound weight mark and I have to admit out of all the camping gear that I have looked at, I have seen some completely cooking sets that are going to come in quite a bit lighter than what this one piece is going to come in at.

What I Liked About The Stainless Steel Kettle

I like the fact that it is actually a little bit on the larger side. This means it will take up more space in my camping gear. However, it also means that I am going to have some problems in storing it as well. At about 12 inches tall, though, it is going to allow me to cook quite a bit of product inside of it or have a lot of water heated up. The downside is the kettle is 14 inches wide as well and that is going to make it a lot harder for finding a stove that can hold it if you are camping.

What else I really like about this kettle is the fact that it is going to have an extra heavy duty bottom. This will make it a lot more durable than some of the pieces you can use, but at the same time it allows you to have a product that is going to keep your pot working for you over a long time and since it is heavy duty and does not warp you do not have to worry about it warping as much as you would when you are using some of the other gear you could have in your bag of goodies that you are bringing with you.

What I Did Not Care For

I did not care for the weight of this stainless steel kettle. While you may not think that a pot coming in at this weight is that bad, but you need to realize I have found the kettle and pot is going to come in at almost the same weight if not even heavier than what I have found with some of the cast iron pieces that I have used on my glass cooktop. So this is definitely something that I am going to find to be a major issue with this product because it is heavy and the size makes it bulky.

The way the handles are going to be positioned and the heat they can conduct is something else that you are going to need to be cautious about. In fact, this often is going to mean you will need to use hot pads when you are looking at moving the kettle around or are planning on handling it at all.

My Final Thoughts On The GSI Outdoors Glacier Stainless Kettle

A stainless steel kettle is something that is great for your camping gear addition and can be used at home as well. However, it is very important for you to find the proper kettle to take with you or you could have some problems with the camping gear being too big or bulky for you to use. Since this is the case, we have reviewed the GSI Outdoors Glacier Stainless Kettle here and have found it to do the job it is meant to as more of a pot rather than a kettle. Overall, though, with the GSI Outdoors Glacier Stainless Kettle we would have to give it a pass because for camping gear it is simply too heavy for me.
