Making coffee while you are camping is a challenge in itself. However, if you are trying to use a percolator for the first time, you will quickly become frustrated and left trying to figure out how exactly you were supposed to make coffee in the first place. Well, I know that this is a challenge and often very upsetting if it does not work out right. This is why I have decided it was time to launch into a review of the Stanley Classic Vacuum French Press so you can see if this is going to work for your needs or if you need to consider a different way to make your coffee while camping.
What I Like About The Stanley Classic Vacuum French Press
The first thing that I like about this press is the fact that it is made from stainless steel construction. This type of construction and the way it is made is going to keep the coffee or hot drinks from ever coming in contact with the plastic. Not to mention since this is stainless steel you do not have to be as concerned about the press rusting out on you while you are using it. So this is a major plus.
With the French Press action, you will notice it is going to be very easy for you to get the coffee you want to have to drink real quick. Now, this could be different than some of the french presses you use at your home. However, what you will notice if you just have to let the coffee sit in the bottom of the press for the five-minute window and after that time frame, you just have to push down on the plunger like you would with any of the other French presses.
Finally, I love the fact this is a press that is going to keep the coffee hot for a long period of time. Because of the way the Stanley Vacuum French Press is designed it is going to allow you to have coffee that stays warm for 4 hours, cool for 9 hours, and if you have iced coffee inside of it you can expect it to stay cold for 24 hours.
What I Did Not Like With The Stanley Classic Vacuum French Press
While I love the fact this is a great coffee maker, I do not like the fact that it uses the French Press style. Yes, I said before that I enjoy it, but at the same time, it is a love-hate relationship. The reason I hate the plunger is I have kids and if you have kids then you know how careless they can be around the campsite and all it takes is a little push and the plunger can bend. Then you have nothing left, but a very nice cup. So that is one aspect that I do not like with the design here as it is meant for camping.
My Final Thoughts On The Stanley Classic Vacuum French Press
I personally love the fact this is a nice product that is going to be working great for the coffee you are making. At the same time, I have a tendency to hate it because kids can damage the plunger. Outside of that I really love this coffee maker and plan on using it on the next trip. However, with the time frame it keeps the drinks hot or cold it can really come in handy for all types of trips and weather, even those outside of the camping you are going to do while using this.
